Navigating the 2026 Regulatory Landscape
As of April 1, 2026, the financial burden on virgin plastic use has reached an all-time high. Our service is specifically designed to mitigate these costs.
- Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT)
The UK PPT rate has increased to £228.82 per tonne for any plastic packaging containing less than 30% recycled plastic.
The Solution: By using our reprocessed pellets in your packaging (at a minimum of 30%), you effectively eliminate this tax entirely. - Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)
2026 marks the implementation of Modulated Fees for EPR. Producers are now charged based on the “recyclability” of their packaging.
• Green Rating: Packaging that is easily recycled and contains high recycled content attracts significantly lower disposal fees.
• Red Rating: Non-recyclable or “virgin-heavy” formats face punitive fees as high as £545 per tonne.
